In the spotlight – Ascensor
In the next of our customer focus articles, we spoke to Andrew Firth, the director of Ascensor Ltd; they have been a customer of Interbacs for over a year and use our facilities management service to collect their Direct Debits.
Ascensor design, build and market websites from standard brochure sites to bespoke content managed solutions including Ecommerce. Whilst speaking to Andrew about his company he said, “We always focus on generating a return on investment for our clients, our services help customers to grow their sales through attracting more visitors to their websites and through the conversion of that traffic”.

Ascensor not only provide their services to the charity, but every year they take various fund raising initiatives to help raise money for the hospice such as completing the ‘Tough Mudder’ challenge, This year’s challenge was to conquer the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
“When the hospice said they were running the Inca Trail event, it was something I had wanted to do since I first saw the images of it” Andrew continued, “I love hiking and I love a challenge so I signed up.”
At the end of the Inca Trail is Machu Picchu (almost 14,000ft above sea level), when speaking about what was difficult about the hike, Andrew answered, “The hardest part was walking at high altitude, at altitude your body behaves differently, it doesn’t matter how fit you are, you realise how fragile the body is”. The final day of hiking saw Andrew and the team hike over 25km until they arrived at the sun gate, “The high of the trip was arriving at Machu Picchu” Andrew told me, “It was an awe inspiring sight after 3 very tough days of walking.”
All their hard work paid off, raising over £24,000 between the 6 of them that took part which will go a long way towards helping the children at The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, I asked Andrew whether he had any challenges he would like to do in the future for the hospice, he told me “We did the ‘Race The Sun’ a few years ago for charity, I’d love to do that again. On the hiking front, I think Napal, the company we went to Machu Picchu with do trips to Everest base camp!”

As mentioned at the beginning of the article, Ascensor use our facilities management service to collect their Direct Debits, “It’s easy to deal with and hassle free”, Andrew commented, “It’s very smooth, we don’t even know they are there! Our finance team send of the Direct Debit collection notice each month and the money is always collected and deposited at the times specified.”
“It’s completely seamless”.
I asked Andrew how Ascensor has benefitted from collecting their Direct Debits with us and he told me, “it helps us to offer an alternative way of paying, once it’s set up it’s a very efficient service for a very cost effective price”.
