In the spotlight – Aberdeen FC
In the first of our customer feature series, we speak to David Bowman, IT Manager from Aberdeen F.C about the years he has spent at the club and how he feels Aberdeen F.C has benefited from using Interbacs as their trusted Bacs and Direct Debit Solution Supplier.
David, a lifelong Aberdeen fan, joined the I.T team at the club in 1995 as a student before being promoted to I.T manager in 2003, the role he has stayed in ever since. He said on his role at the club, “I’m very lucky, I’ve been able to combine two of my passions in my career, technology and football”.
He has seen the club have a fantastic season under the new manager Derek McInnes, winning the Scottish league cup on penalties at Celtic park as well as currently sitting 2nd in the league and the promise of European football for the first time since 2009!
Speaking about the current season, David told Interbacs, “There is a great atmosphere around the city this season, having the addition of Derek McInnes has really completed the jigsaw that Craig Brown (former manager) put in place”.
Aberdeen FC are one of the first customers we had here at Interbacs, and has been a satisfied customer of Interbacs’ Direct Debit Management System (DDMS) over the years. Historically they have managed their Direct Debit Collection process using DDMS and Bottomline’s Microbank software. Having received excellent support and hence enjoying a great commercial relationship with Interbacs over the years, the decision to adopt an addition solution from Interbacs, this time InterPay Enterprise, to replace the discontinued software from Bottomline was extremely easy.
Aberdeen F.C are pleased with their decision on InterPay Enterprise as it is a piece of Bacs approved Software designed to integrate with DDMS bringing forth improved features of the combined solution with added new technology.
When asked how they benefited from Interbacs Bacs and Direct Debit Solutions, David answered: “Using the user friendly InterPay has allowed us to maintain the collection of our clubs lottery accurately and timely. It greatly helped us managing our cash flow safeguarding our profit”. David continued, “Collecting Direct Debit means that we don’t have to go door to door to collect the payments, it saves us time, money and it is much more secure”.
